Carrie qualified in Oil Painting Conservation in Italy and the UK and went on to work extensively as an Old Master paintings restorer and curator across several continents. For twelve years she worked for museums, private and corporate collectors, and galleries specialising in Old Masters.
Having lived in more than ten countries, as diverse as New Zealand, Russia, Hungary, Hong Kong and the United States, as well as many European nations, Carrie returned to London in 2006. She continued her quest for knowledge by studying Contemporary Art at Christie’s Education and Interior Design at KLC School of Design. This led to a role as Senior Art Advisor at International Art Consultants, the UK’s leading corporate art consultancy. There she worked with numerous demanding blue-chip corporations, helping them build extensive art collections, and commissioned many large-scale works of art.
Alongside her advisory work at Allegory Art, Carrie has curated exhibitions. Time, Suspended (2020) brought together work by twelve female artists who best captured the moment we were all living through. More recently, in 2022–23, while serving as Art Advisor to a private collector, she co-curated a major retrospective of the French artist Pierre Dunoyer at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris.
With Property of a Lady, and her recent participation at the Battersea Decorative Fair, Carrie draws on this breadth of experience and her own distinctive visual language. Her curated collection is the culmination of a far-reaching journey, weaving together every strand of her professional life and a wealth of international influences. It ranges from antique furniture, Old Masters, objets de vertu and decorative lighting to Modern and Contemporary works of art, each piece chosen for its elegance and exquisite craftsmanship.
Carrie speaks six European languages, travels extensively for work, and welcomes enquiries about projects worldwide.
